It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity

CSR: Corporate Social Responsibility

At our level i.e. modestly, let’s make a liar of Albert Einstein.

Respect for the environment and for people is important to us and we aspire to contribute to projects aimed at addressing social, societal and environmental challenges.

We have a wealth of knowledge and skills within the company that we are committed to sharing through a number of actions including, in particular, partnerships with schools in order to train students, mentoring of interns and support for solidarity associations and projects.

We subscribe to the POST Luxembourg Group’s CSR approach, which is guided by the RESPECT objectives (see the group’s annual integrated report).

Our commitments

The society is beginning to realise that the changes it is making are meaningless without respect for the environment and for people. At their level, companies are moving towards more inclusive policies and are more aware of their impact.

As a digital transformation actor, InTech has decided to tackle these new challenges by focusing a small part of its efforts on structures (associations, NGOs) that want to implement digital in order to increase their impact.

#partnerships

In recent years, InTech has engaged with Tech for Good actors such as ShareIT and Latitudes. Through these partnerships, social, societal and environmental projects have had access to the skills of the company’s engineers in order to start or accelerate their business through the introduction of innovative solutions that meet their needs.

#mentoring

InTech engineers work with schools and incubators in order to share their experience with students and entrepreneurs.

#hackathons

InTech takes part in technical and business ecosystems’ activities in Luxembourg: every year, a dozen or so employees have the opportunity to participate in hackathons covering different aspects of our business.

InTech also organises two innovative hackathons in Luxembourg: Act in Space, where space is a catalyst for innovation, and Lux4Good, where influential entrepreneurs request the expertise of developers in order to meet their digital challenges.

#support for projects

An incubation only lasts a few months; a hackathon only a few hours. But the wonderful encounters and inspiring projects that arise from them reach beyond these time restrictions. We also seek to build lasting relationships with the project managers we help by remaining at their disposal, communicating regularly with them and making our network available to them, for example.

your #proposals

We are continually on the lookout for ways to innovate, in all the areas in which we operate.  This includes CSR. We are ready to discuss with you any ideas you may have to propose to us in order to take our actions forward day-by-day and increase their impact.

A few achievements

Signe de Sens

Since 2003, Signes de Sens has decided to address inequalities in access to education and culture for deaf people. In particular, the association has developed Elix, a collaborative online dictionary in French Sign Language (LSF), which comprises over 4,000 words and definitions. Signes de Sens decided to go further with the aim of making any webpage accessible and understandable to deaf people, by putting in place a translation tool based on the Elix dictionary.

As part of the ShareIT programme, InTech supported the association in the development of a browser extension. Available in the Chrome, Firefox and Safari stores, “La Bulle Elix” is based on a search engine in which videos, meanings and definitions are indexed. In order to make this translation possible and effective, we also used a lemmatisation service which reverts to the canonical form of a word.

Médecins du Monde Luxembourg

We support Médecins du Monde Luxembourg through a number of initiatives. We helped them improve their digital tools to meet the business needs of information-sharing and security between the various healthcare centres in Luxembourg.

We contributed by providing them with support in installing their computer hardware, establishing networks between three healthcare centres with secure access and designing and implementing a patient management platform in order to improve the medical, social and psychological follow-up of patients.

MyMedBot

In 2018, InTech supported the startup, MyMedBot, with the design and development of their mobile application solution for people with chronic conditions such as diabetes. The aim of this application is to alert relatives or caregivers during crisis situations using a personal global positioning system.

Part of the application was developed by InTech during the support process. This finished at the end of the year with a test phase organised by the startup.

WWow

An initial project consisted in supporting WWoW (We are NOT Weapons of War), an NGO which condemns the use of rape as a weapon of war. We put in place a platform for reporting and following up on sexual violence committed in conflict situations. Thanks to this tool, victims are linked to courts that are able to prosecute their attackers, as well as to a network (medical, social, etc.) which can help them cope with what they have gone through.

Our engineers shared their technical skills in Artificial Intelligence with lawyers to enable them to process large numbers of cases efficiently; and thanks to Blockchain, they guarantee the integrity of reports between the end of their referral and their presentation before the court. We also developed the association’s Website.
